Tiny's Place was a show that I worked on for the Quaker Youth Theatre. There was no other Stage Management crew, so I DSMed and Stage Managed all at the same time!

I worked on this show with a professional director (Ellen Hughes) and LX op, and the rest of the crew and cast were all young people aged between 14-18. I worked closely with them, teaching them about management methods for their department, practical skills and what to do on stage during rehearsals, tech and the shows themselves.

The final show took place in the Crescent Theatre in Birmingham and went down very well with some impressive acting, and a very professional backstage crew.

This show was particularly rewarding for me because at the start none of the crew except for the sound department had any idea what they were doing, and yet the show was extremely sucessful. It was also the first time a lot of them had had any experience of a professional theatre, and i think a lot of converts were gained!

This experience also added a lot to my passion for social theatre, seeing how the young people responded not only to the theatrical side, but also learnt a lot about themselves, as well as making new friends and learning about the issues surrounding the play.
